What happens when you stop paying

Ask any tool in this category what happens when you cancel, and you will not get a straight answer. The honest one is usually: the door closes — on the software, and on the stock count you put into it.

A screwdriver does not stop turning when you cancel. We have never been able to explain why software should.

So here is our answer, and it is the whole reason this page exists. Pay for twelve months, and whatever version you hold at the end of them is yours to keep. Stop paying whenever you like. We send you a build with the cloud taken out of it — not switched off, removed — and it keeps counting on your machine, with your five phones, for as long as the machine runs. No sign-in. No licence check. Nothing to expire, because there is nothing left to check.

You do not have to take our word for it. That is the same build we have promised to publish if this business ever closes, and it is the one every customer who leaves already receives. It cannot quietly stop working, because it is in use.

Then why charge at all?

Because two parts of this genuinely cost money every year, and pretending otherwise would be the dishonest version of this page.

Connectors. Xero, QuickBooks and Shopify change how they work on their schedule, not ours. Keeping those links working is a job that never finishes. And the cloud — the accounts, and the place your connection keys are held so your hub can use them. A server has a bill, and the bill does not care when you bought.

That is what the subscription pays for, and that is exactly what stops when you leave. Counting, printing, exporting, your phones on your own network — none of that costs us anything to leave running, so none of it stops. You lose the part that costs money. You keep the part that does not.

Your data was never ours to hold

It is a SQLite file on your machine, readable with free tools, backed up by you the way you back up anything else. We cannot lose it, leak it, or hold it hostage — and we would rather not be able to. Nothing you count is ever sent to us. There is no mechanism by which it could be.

Your price will not rise because we improved something

When we build something genuinely new and expensive to run, we will offer it to you as a thing you can choose. We will not put it in your renewal and call it an increase.

The terms hold us to that in writing: your renewal can move with inflation and no more than five points above it, never more than once a year, never beyond a fixed ceiling over what you first paid, and always with two months' notice and a free way out. Those limits bind anyone who ever buys this business, too. That sentence is in there deliberately, and it is the one we would least like to be asked to remove.

And if you never want us in the loop at all

There is a version you buy once, for €299, that has no cloud in it from the first day — no sign-in, no connectors, nothing leaving your machine. Just you, the app and five phones. It is the same build everyone else eventually gets. You are simply starting there.

We would rather be paid because the tool is good this year than because leaving is expensive.
